I had every intention of making the
Malted Milk Sandwich Cookies from
Baked Explorations for this week's
Baked Sunday Mornings bakealong, but I have a list of excuses for not being able to get to the recipe... being out of the country for two weeks; a delayed return home because of the Snowquester; a bad cold. But I did make these cookies two years ago (at the same time I made the Salt-n-Pepper Sandwich Cookies; the two cookies are pictured together, below), so I will simply direct folks
back to my previous post to read about the cookies.
Recipe: "Malted Milk Sandwich Cookies" from
Baked Explorations: Classic American Desserts Reinvented, by Matt Lewis and Renato Poliafito, recipe available
here at
Baked Sunday Mornings.

Great picture! They look delicious. I have yet to try the salt and pepper ones ,but your picture is certainly inviting!
The two cookies together look great. I didn't attempt the salt and pepper ones. Perhaps one day. Hope you're feeling better.
Long flights definitely set you up for getting sick. Get well soon.
I'm so glad you reminded me of the chocolate version...I was actually wanting chocolate when I first began this baking project, but, I'm glad I made the ones for today...lots of good ideas with these non-chocolate cookies...but now I want the chocolate again. Great photo.
I loved the peppery cookies. Beautiful cookies!
They look wonderful! Hope you feel better soon!
Your cookies look gorgeous-- I, too, love the malted and chocolate cookies together, and I made both this time as well. Hey, you should have one in each hand, am I right?! ;-)
Hope you're feeling better!
